You are subscribed to receive alerts for jobs similar to this one.Our client is a leading global mining company involved in large-scale mining project in BC that is looking for a JUNIOR PROJECT ENGINEER (EIT) - Mining & Heavy Industrial Projects.The successful candidate should be technically strong, highly organized, and eager to grow within large, multidisciplinary industrial projects. This Vancouver-based position supports project engineering, coordination, and technical deliverable management for a major mining program, with periodic travel to site for short rotations.This is an excellent fit for a technically minded early-career engineer who enjoys a balance of office work, field exposure, and working closely with diverse teams.Work Location: Vancouver-based with periodic travel to remote site locations

Contract Duration: 12 months with possible extensionKey Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Engineering team with coordination of project deliverables, progress tracking, and documentation control
- Prepare and maintain technical documents, RFIs, work packages, data tracking sheets, and meeting notes
- Conduct analytical reviews, assist with technical evaluations, and help resolve engineering queries
- Collaborate frequently with engineering disciplines, project managers, vendors, and construction teams
- Participate in field verifications, walkdowns, and onsite coordination during periodic site visits
- Use strong IT and analytical skills to support project reporting, data management, and workflow improvements
- Maintain safety awareness and ensure adherence to project and site standards
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Mining, or related discipline)
- Approximately 2 years post-graduation (new grads with strong skills may be considered)
- EIT status highly preferred
- Strong technical, analytical, and IT skills - higher priority than industry background
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort working with technical tools and data
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
- EPC or Owner-side project experience is a plus
- 30-40% site travel, typically in blocks (e.g., one full week at a time)
- Technically strong junior engineer with a passion for problem-solving and project delivery
- Professional, reliable, and comfortable working in both office and site environments
- Strong communicator with excellent people skills and the ability to build productive relationships
- Organized and proactive, capable of working in a fast-paced project environment
- Flexible, adaptable, and eager to gain hands-on experience as part of a major industrial project
