We are looking for a dependable individual or couple to serve as a backup emergency caregiver for my elderly mother. She currently has a wonderful live-out caregiver and housekeeper whom we are very happy with, so we want to maintain that arrangement. The backup role is for emergencies only and involves staying in a beautiful basement apartment - a private entrance 2-bedroom space with a full kitchen, bathroom and laundry. We are offering this apartment at a heavily subsidized rate to the right individual or couple. In the event of an emergency, such as hospital visits, our primary live-out caregiver would be contacted first. If unavailable, we would rely on you to accompany my mother to the hospital. While we understand you may have other jobs, assistance during evenings or outside your other job hours would still be helpful. All emergency assistance would be paid in addition to the subsidized rent. When my mother is in the hospital, the backup person would also care for her cat.
