Step into a pivotal senior leadership role as the Manager, Curbside Management, where you'll revolutionize the City of Edmonton’s dynamic curbside space! You'll strategically and operationally oversee everything from cutting-edge on-street paid parking (EPark) to innovative shared micromobility services (e-scooters, e-bikes), critical pick-up/drop-off zones, residential parking programming and vital commercial loading areas.As a key leader within the Safe Mobility section, you'll be the driving force ensuring our curbside spaces champion mobility, equity, climate action, economic vibrancy, and urban livability. Your vision will directly align with The City Plan, Safe Mobility Strategy, Climate Resilience Strategy, and Curbside Management Strategy. Get ready to translate big-picture policy into coordinated, innovative programs that dramatically enhance safety, efficiency, and access across Edmonton’s bustling right-of-way. This is your chance to make a tangible, lasting impact on our city!What will you do?Oversee the operation and financial performance of the EPark on-street paid parking system and municipally owned off-street parking facilitiesAdminister residential, special, and accessibility parking permit programsManage shared micromobility services, including vendor licensing, infrastructure integration, and user complianceLead the development and regulation of diverse curbside uses such as commercial loading zones, passenger pick-up/drop-off areas, and seasonal configurationsChampion innovation in curb use, including demand-based pricing, pilot programs, and the integration of future technologies like EV charging and dynamic curb allocationDirect the allocation of resources (budget, people, materials) to ensure high-quality project execution and monitor program performance using data and feedbackEnsure the reliable operation, maintenance, and customer service delivery for all curbside infrastructure and related inquiriesDevelop and manage operational and capital budgets, overseeing revenue trends and developing pricing strategies for fiscal responsibilityLead the implementation and continuous refinement of the City of Edmonton’s Curbside Management Strategy, aligning decisions with city plans and strategic initiativesProvide comprehensive leadership to program and technical staff, including hiring, performance management, team capacity building, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable work environmentQualificationsUniversity degree or diploma in a related fieldMinimum 7 years of progressive experience in urban mobility, transportation, or municipal operations, including 3+ years in a leadership roleSkills required for success:Deep knowledge of Edmonton's strategic direction, including the Curbside Management Strategy and City Plans, with demonstrated expertise in parking operations, curbside policies, and smart mobility program designProven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating complex projects, and engaging diverse partners, coupled with strong skills in budgeting, data analytics, risk management, and performance measurementExceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-responsive service deliveryStrategic mindset, strong people leadership skills, and the ability to drive execution excellence, foster collaboration, think systemically, lead innovation, and champion continuous improvementAlignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies ( )Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusionApplicants may be testedConditions of employment & work environment:Up to: 1 permanent full-time positionHours of work: 36.9 hours per week, Monday - FridaySalary: $105,668.31 - $132,083.940 (Annually)This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksiteThis position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off)Management and Out-of-Scope positions at the City of Edmonton are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the Civic Service Union 52 bargaining unit.
