
Ski Patrol Supervisor (Winter 2025/26)

- The effective supervision and motivation of up to 10 staff patrollers and 5 volunteer patrollers.
- Ensuring the overall safety of mountain staff and guests through effective injury and incident prevention methods including:
- Assisting the manager with the hire, orientation, and training of new and returning safety staff.
- Ensuring adequate first aid and safety coverage through effective scheduling of resources.
- Assisting in the investigation of incidents that may occur involving staff and/or guests.
- The inventory, maintenance and security of all patrol and department facilities and equipment.
- Ensuring that all injury and incident paperwork is completed correctly
- Ensuring that all other duties assigned to department staff are completed on time and in the manner described.
- Administering first aid services to injured staff and guests.
- Educating staff and guests to the components of the Alpine Responsibility Code.
- Acting as a safety resource for all staff from all other departments and assisting where required in creating good safety culture at Grouse Mountain.
- Other duties as required.
- ≥80 Hour first aid certification such as:
- Occupational First Aid Level 3,
- Outdoor Emergency Care,
- Non-Urban Emergency Care,
- BC Licensed EMR or PCP
- 2 Years Patrol Experience
- Recreational Avalanche Course
- Rope Rescue Experience
- Basic knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
- Experience with Advanced protocols such as:
- Entonox, Sager, Epi-pen, Salbutamol, Nitroglycerin administration
- Successful candidate must complete a criminal record check once offered the position; the check must be completed prior to start date if you are 19 years and older. Grouse Mountain will assist you with the process.
- BC Licensed EMR or PCP
- Canadian Avalanche Association level 1
- WorkSafe BC Blasting Certificate
- Rope Access and/or Rescue Certification
- Incident Command Structure 100
- Incident Investigation Training
- Previous Supervisory Experience
