- Utilize Revit authoring tools to assist with project work - modeling and detailing to prepare drawings and visual aids
- Collect data and other information for construction documents
- Prepare project design and construction documents
- Complete Construction Documents for Electrical, from beginning to end in Revit
- Independently perform intermediate to advanced engineering work
- Perform intermediate to advanced electrical design tasks under a senior engineer's supervision
- Perform intermediate to advanced computations and analysis for electrical systems
- Utilize Revit to prepare drawings and visual aids
- Utilize preferred automation and Revit addins to generate Single Line Diagrams and Photometrics
- Review and write the sequence of operations
- Diagnose and fix Revit visibility issues for the project team
- Manage project and family graphics
- Create new Tag Families and know how to work with labels within Tags and title blocks
- Diagnose trouble categories within linked models and how to change their appearance
- Understand the differences between Electrical Equipment Part Types and its effect on Panel Schedules
- Research, understand, and incorporate graphic standards from clients when required for a given project
- Generate compelling views beyond plan views, such as Sections and 3D Renderings/Isometrics
- Setup/Utilize standard views in Revit when needed
- Create schedules and design views to aid in Electrical Design in Revit
- Resolve Electrical BIM design issues using a combination of Navisworks and Revit and other platforms such as ACC
- Provide quality control tools for completeness and adherence to company standards of production
- Monitor work products produced by staff to ensure Revit standards are maintained within project models
- Maintain and update Electrical Revit families in response to project requirements.
- Create schedules, Panel Schedules, Note Blocks, and Keynote Legends
- Add new parameters to the project or families and know the difference between Built-In, Shared, Family, and Project Parameters
- Understand the difference between Instance and Type Parameters and when to use each
- Add connectors to families and map parameters to push data to the project
- Create special views and schedules within Revit, which issue alerts based on parameter values
- Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and Budget
- Train team members on the job when asked or as needed
- Knowledge of producing industry-standard work products (e.g., construction drawings)
- Skilled at using Revit and BIM 360/ACC
- Ability to work as part of a large team and coordinate with peers across disciplines to meet deadlines and milestones while ensuring own team is adhering to delivery standards
- Ability to take accountability for schedule, budgets, and quality of deliverables
- Skilled at using Navisworks
- Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
- Skilled at active listening, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- Ability to pay close attention at project meetings, receptive to advice from more experienced team members, desire to grow as Revit user and model manager
- Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace
- Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others
- Ability to manage the production of multiple drawings/projects at the same time
- Ability to work with engineers and design team to incorporate MEP design concepts into Revit and the ability to understand all parts of engineering construction documents
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
- Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
- Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence
- Ability to work in interdepartmental groups in multi-role efforts
- 10+ years of experience producing electrical construction documents using Revit.
- Experience in lighting systems design including light-level modeling is an asset
- Experience in fire alarm systems design in an asset
- Experience in power distribution systems and building electrical systems design is an asset.
