- Evaluate and advise clients on legal matters related to estates, trusts, probate, and related litigation.
- Conduct legal research and analysis related to estates and trusts.
- Communicate with clients, courts, administrators, and other relevant parties.
- Draft legal pleadings, memoranda, and other documents required for litigation proceedings.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution procedures.
- Monitor changes in estate, trust, and probate laws to ensure that clients are receiving current legal advice.
- Juris Doctor or LL.B degree and licensed to practice law in British Columbia with good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
- Proven experience in estates litigation, including knowledge of trusts, probate, and wills law.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong referral network and a passion for generating client referrals.
- Experience of 8 years plus.
