In this role, you will lead a small team, manage financial operations, prepare reports, and ensure the day-to-day accounting processes run smoothly. This is your chance to make a real impact in a dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and related transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the annual budgeting process by providing historical data and working papers.
- Assist with year-end audits by ensuring records and systems meet auditor expectations.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and recommend financial policies and procedures.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, cheque requests, bank deposits, purchase orders, payroll support, and invoicing.
- Perform month-end reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Audit accounting records and manage general expense controls.
- Assist with setup and maintenance of customer and vendor accounts.
- Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of accounting staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years leading a team in a financial management role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and currency conversion.
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- CPA designation (completed or in progress).
- Experience in freight forwarding, transportation, or logistics.
- Familiarity with UFOS Transport and Warehouse Software.
