As the Senior Associate, Digital Activation (Direct IO), you are an enthusiastic subject matter expert on the Canadian media eco-system and the roles that different channels and platforms play in the daily lives of Canadian consumers. You understand that your strong background in technology, analytics, and communication will be key to your success in this role. You understand how marketing objectives and media strategy can be effectively brought to life through thoughtful channel, partner and placement choices. You know which media vendor partners will most effectively reach which audience segments. You know which placements are going to outperform the others. You have experience with complex taxonomy and, because of your strong attention to detail, know how to navigate them with ease. You are a team player with strong written and oral communication skills (you are especially comfortable with long-form writing to communicate your ideas and recommendations). You feel comfortable bringing performance results to clients, tying the optimization metrics to the strategic intent of campaigns and the underlying business objectives.Responsibilities
  • Understand how to intake and interpret the client media brief and media strategy in order to support the Planning Team with tactical planning (channel mix and media vendor-partners and placement choices
  • Prepare media vendor-partner consideration sets aligned to media strategy
  • Partner with Planning team colleagues to execute the vendor-partner RFP process; develop the RFP, support vendor-partners with Q&A as they prepare their responses; evaluate RFP responses and make recommendations to inform tactical media plan
  • Support Planning Team to present and sell-in the media tactical plan to the client
  • Preparing taxonomy aligned to taxonomy guidelines and tactical choices
  • Support the creative production process including preparation of specs sheets, custom creative deliverables and trafficking sheets. Act as a liason between clients, internal agency teams and the client-side Campaign Program Managers.
  • Working with campaign operations team, oversee entry of approved tactics (partners and placements) into activation systems and tools; quality-check and finalize all campaign details
  • Working with ad operations team, ensure tags are prepared, tested and delivered to partners accurately and on-time
  • Prepare pre-launch and post-launch client communications
  • Partner with media vendor-partners to ensure proper pacing and in-campaign performance tracking
  • Partner with Data & Reporting colleagues to deliver post-campaign reporting; providing meaningful insights and interpretation of data, along with actionable recommendations based on your analysis
Education
  • Relevant post-secondary education, training, or equivalent experience
Certifications
  • Nice to have:
  • Google Campaign Manager Certification
  • Google Ads Certification
Skills
  • DDS and Prisma Digital Management systems (Proficient)
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, with emphasis on MS Excel. (Proficient)
  • Proven experience with third-party ad-servers (e.g. Google Campaign Manager). Experience with other digital solutions (Omniture, WebTrends, Social Media monitoring) a bonus. (Proficient)
  • Knowledge of Evaluation of marketing ROI, conversion funnel analysis and Optimization (Proficient)
  • Demonstrating motivation, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow direction and meet short deadlines while producing high-quality work.
Strong written and oral communication skillsExperiences
  • 3 to 4 years agency experience in digital media planning or buying with a strong understanding of the Canadian digital media eco-system including media vendor-partners, Buying, Trafficking, Analyzing, and Optimizing
  • Must be proficient in media terminology, media math, and reach and frequency calculations. (Proficient)
  • Experience working on Retail, Ecommerce and Technology client an asset
