- Install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain low-voltage and medium-voltage equipment (panels, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, feeders, distribution, lighting, VFD, battery systems, UPS).
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance using CMMS; update work orders, drawings, and as-builts.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using meters, insulation testers, and IR/thermal inspections; root-cause recurring issues.
- Execute cable pulls/terminations, tray/conduit work (EMT/RMC/Tray), motor hookups, and VFD integrations.
- Operate and maintain medium voltage and high voltage systems, perform medium and high voltage LOTOs.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain process instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level, analytical), control valves, and actuators.
- Commission and troubleshoot PLC- and DCS-based systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley/Siemens), VFDs, and industrial networking (EtherNet/IP/Profinet).
- Read and update P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and control narratives; maintain I/O lists and ranges.
- Perform loop checks, signal simulation (4–20 mA, 0–10 V), and ensure accurate scaling to SCADA/HMI.
- Work with engineers/operators/contractors on control logic changes, alarm rationalization, and process optimization.
- Follow electrical safety standards and LOTO; participate in JHSC initiatives and risk assessments (JHAs/JSAs).
- Ensure installations meet CESC/ESA and company specifications, support inspections and audits.
- Maintain documentation for ESA inspections, test reports, calibrations, and as-builts.
- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, improve asset reliability, and optimize energy usage (power quality, harmonics, PF).
- Support upgrades, shutdowns/turnarounds, and capital projects; provide input on scope, materials, and commissioning plans.
- Support operators/maintenance staff on basic equipment care and safe operation.
- Ontario 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician Red Seal Certificate of Qualification (licensed, in good standing).
- 3–7+ years’ experience in industrial/commercial facilities or heavy process environments.
- I&C experience: instrument calibration, loop checks, control valves, transmitters, wiring to PLC/DCS, SCADA/HMI familiarity.
- Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition).
- Instrumentation/Controls post-secondary diploma or 447A/448A background exposure considered an asset.
- Experience in power generation, central utilities is an asset.
- Hands-on with PLCs (e.g., Allen‑Bradley/Siemens), VFDs, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profibus/Profinet).
- Thermography Level I, ESA ACP familiarity, or power quality analysis is an asset.
- Proficiency reading schematics, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and control wiring diagrams.
- Strong knowledge of CESC, ESA requirements, lockout/tagout, arc flash awareness (NFPA 70E/CSA Z462 concepts).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights/confined spaces (with training), and use PPE including arc-rated gear.
- Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry/Rescue, Elevated Work Platforms certifications.
- Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $45.00 to $60.00 per hour. Base wages are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
