Offer DescriptionSubject of the thesis: Biochemical and functional characterization of the tumor suppressor and deubiquitinase BAP1: Implications for chromatin-associated processes, epigenetics, cell cycle control and cancer. Our research aims at understanding the intricate world of ubiquitin signaling, a key player in essential cellular processes including DNA-associated transactions, especially in controlling gene expression and DNA damage/repair. At the heart of our investigation is the deubiquitinase and tumor suppressor BAP1. Still little is known about BAP1 and how this gene prevents cancer development. By combining cutting-edge approaches and tools from biochemistry, molecular biology, and mouse genetics, including CRISPR/Cas technology, we're unraveling BAP1 function and mechanisms of action. For students joining our team, this project represents a great learning experience and provide the opportunity to immerse in advanced Proteomics, Genomics, and Cell signaling techniques.Funding category: Financement public/privéFinancing : The annual salary for a PhD student is $26,000 and the HMR research center offers competitive scholarship competition (20K to 30K)for Ph.D students with outstanding academic achievementsPHD title: Doctorat en Biochimie et médecine moléculaire
