- Support application engineering activities by applying working knowledge of water treatment processes and standard equipment platforms.
- Collaborate primarily with the direct sales team to review customer requirements on small to medium‑complexity projects and develop process solutions using standard tools and calculations.
- Select appropriate standard equipment and materials to meet customer needs and support project costing.
- Generate customer proposals utilizing standard tools and obtain appropriate approval levels.
- Work with drafters to create application drawings and technical documentation as required.
- Effectively communicate application solutions to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Identify and understand risks associated with assigned work products and escalate as appropriate.
- Assist in mentoring AE I engineers on business processes and smaller applications.
- Execute assigned responsibilities in accordance with established business processes, engineering standards, and safety practices.
- Work cooperatively within cross‑disciplinary teams with some supervision while demonstrating increasing independence in assigned tasks.
- Travel as required (5–15%) to support customer needs and project execution.
- Demonstrate accountability by taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering work with accuracy and timeliness.
- Exhibit a customer‑centric mindset by aligning technical solutions with customer requirements within defined project scopes.
- Collaborate effectively with peers, sales partners, and cross‑functional teams.
- Show initiative in developing technical skills, product knowledge, and business understanding.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant engineering or application engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of business tools, processes, and procedures.
- Working understanding of standard products, common components, and their application.
- Ability to conduct and understand water quality projections.
- General understanding of sales processes and how the Applications Engineer role supports business outcomes.
- General understanding of financial principles related to proposals and project costing.
- Working understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information in a customer setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks within assigned scopes.
- Experience supporting customer proposals and application development in water treatment or related process industries.
- Exposure to project documentation, drawing review, and proposal approval workflows.
- Interest in expanding technical ownership, mentoring capabilities, and progression within the Applications Engineering career path.
