We currently have an opening for an Intermediate Environmental Planner in our Edmonton office. You have a strong background in navigating the provincial and federal legislation for linear and infrastructure projects. You are a leader, a collaborator and have the ability think critically to solve problems. You will take on a strong role in project planning and implementation, project management, and client and business development. You possess a strong knowledge in a variety of disciplines supporting Alberta Environment related permitting and approvals.Responsibilities will include the following:
  • Navigating the regulatory approval process and providing strategic advice in project planning.
  • Preparing high quality scientific and technical reports, including permits and regulatory documents.
  • Managing projects, including budget and schedule management, client liaison, technical leadership and coordinating project teams.
  • Business development, including proposal writing; and developing and managing client relationships.
  • Leading projects through a range of federal, provincial, and municipal regulatory processes.
Job RequirementsWhat you will bring:
  • Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant pure or applied science (graduate degree preferred).
  • Preference will be given to individuals registered with a professional organization (i.e., ASPB, AIA, etc.) or eligibility for registration.
  • 5+ years post-graduation experience in environmental consulting with a focus on regulatory and permit delivery.
  • Strong project management skills (i.e., more than 3 years of project management experience).
  • A strong understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislation, regulation and permitting processes.
  • Leadership and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and technical report writing experience.
  • A valid driver's licence.
