We're full-service and fully loaded with an industry-leading diverse fleet of over 80,000 trailers and a support network of 240 service bays, 118 mobile service trucks, and 430+ skilled mechanics.We are seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team! This role is based in our Canadian Headquarters in Mississauga and plays a key part in ensuring all payroll transactions are processed and recorded accurately and on time using the ADP Workforce Now platform.This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive payroll professional who is eager to learn and grow. Join our team and advance your career with us!As the successful candidate you will be performing the following duties:Main responsibilities:
  • Oversee and process a full biweekly payroll cycle for approximately 400 salaried and hourly employees.
  • Administer all aspects of biweekly payroll, including:
  • Inputting and validating payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness;
  • Processing taxable benefits, bonus payments, DPSP, RRSP contributions, and other earnings accurately and within established timelines;
  • Setting up and maintaining third-party payments and garnishments;
  • Reconciling payroll records in a timely manner and preparing reports for the Finance department, including statutory remittances;
  • Calculating and reconciling vacation accruals and banked time, personal days, unpaid leave, shift premiums, expense reimbursements, awards, commissions, quarterly payments, and other variable compensation.
  • Create strong relationships with TEN managers to ensure correct use of ADP Workforce Now including time and attendance submissions and answer any employee related inquires.
  • Liaise with ADP to ensure payroll processes remain compliant with all applicable federal and provincial legislation.
  • Administer and support employee benefit programs through Canada Life and retirement plans through Sun Life Financial.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc payroll and benefits reports.
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) through the National Payroll Institute
  • Five years of proven experience managing full-cycle payroll for both salaried and hourly employees
  • Strong hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Extensive experience processing multi province payroll (including Quebec)
  • Strong understanding of payroll-related tax regulations and remittance requirements, including source deductions, Employer Health Tax (EHT), WSIB, and WCB/CNESST
  • Bilingual in French is an asset
  • Strong educational background and practical experience in accounting policies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Analytical mindset with a strong process-driven approach
