Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd. is seeking a Construction Safety Officer for an exciting opportunity with an expected full-time duration of 11 months, extendable up to 2 years. Join us in gaining valuable expertise and contributing to a range of impactful assignments!Responsibilities:· Maintain records, monitor accident frequencies, and oversee safety compliance· Review documentation for accuracy and provide feedback to personnel· Support safety planning for new projects and conduct worker orientations· Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks· Monitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors, enforce regulations· Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and investigate incidents· Keep management informed on issues affecting project work· Promote and uphold safe working conditionsQualifications / Requirements:· Minimum 5 years of field safety experience, preferably in industrial construction· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others· Post-secondary education in a related field· Excellent verbal and written communication skills· Results-driven with good organizational abilities· Willingness to work shifts and outside the Lower Mainland if neededSkills/Abilities/Attributes:· Preferred professional safety designation (e.g., CRSP, RCSO, CHSC, CSS, CIH, or ROH)· Occupational First Aid Level 3 certification or willingness to obtain· Experience with BCCSA's C.O.R. program and auditing processes· High personal, professional, and ethical standards· Initiative, sound judgment, and a proactive approach· Excellent relationship-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills· Strong prioritization and time-management skills· Eager to learn and develop in the safety fieldVan Pile values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
