We believe in fairness and choose to be honest, transparent and authentic in everything we do.Learn more about us: http://www.global.weir/services/marine-engineering/Key Responsibilities:Plan, develop, and implement network hardware and software to enhance modeling and simulation capabilities at CFMWC;Test, verify, and maintain software and lab networks supporting simulation activities;Document technical designs and contribute to effective software change management practices;Provide support for ship simulation development and validation efforts;Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal teams, subject matter experts, and external partners to meet requirements and align on solutions;Lead design reviews and present technical arguments and accreditation documentation clearly and logically; andSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:Mandatory: Must obtain a Government of Canada security clearance, which necessitates Canadian citizenship and a minimum of 10 years of continuous residence in Canada;Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent is required, while a Master’s degree or above is highly desirable;Required: Prior experience in industry with network system design and technical requirements definition, system administration including 2 years using UNIX or Linux based systems;Required: Possess strong scientific and mathematical aptitude with a passion for problem-solving, understanding of physical system modeling;Desirable: Experienced in Windows server and Active Directory management, Cisco Networking, Switching and Routing including ASA firewalls and ACLs; andDesirable: Familiarity with IT security concepts and design, Data Center level storage solutions, modern software development tools and processes such as C++, Python, Git, GitLab, and/or SQL.Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
