
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

- Repairing and/or replacing mechanical components, including but not limited to motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates
- Performing regularly scheduled maintenance on various conveyors and other specialized conveyance & sortation systems
- Troubleshooting, adjusting and replacing parts for large-scale automated parcel sortation equipment
- Performing investigative and corrective maintenance based on inspection findings for various kinds of equipment
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
- Welding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating
- Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, sorters, bulk carts, and powered industrial equipment
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Possession of a valid 433A Millwright or 442A Industrial Electrician Certification of Qualification is required (extensive relevant experience working with conveyor & sortation equipment, or possession of a valid welding certification, may also be considered)
- Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals is a requirement
- 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience performing maintenance on conveyor equipment preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively, convey & receive instruction, and coordinate with partners over the radio in an industrial environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in high pressure environments
- Experience in performing maintenance on conveyor belts is highly preferred
- Knowledge of building schematics & drawings is an asset
- Knowledge of the keyboard and basic computer skills is an asset
