Together, these distinctions reinforce our reputation as an employer of choice in Montreal, across Canada, and around the world.Internship dates: August 31st to December 18th, 2026Location: The position is based at 1801 Courtneypark Dr. E, Mississauga, ON L5T 1J3; from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.Check out our YouTube channel:Our website:Why join our team?Structural Systems engineers are responsible for load, deflection and stress analysis and experimental testing of gas turbine engines and sub-systems from the early concept phase through certification and field service.We have three main sub-discipline's in Structures Systems:1) Structural Integration - support concept development of engine architecture, generate full engine system models for load, deflection and stress analysis, generate, document and manage static and dynamic loads, integrate the engine structure with the airframe.2) Engine Impact Dynamics - utilize LS/Dyna to generate full engine models to predict engine system response to highly dynamic short duration impact events such as turbofan blade off, bird ingestion, hail impact and turboprop/shaft engine system response to stage blade off, shaft shear and overspeed.3) ECN Stress Analysis - analyze, develop and test hardware designed within the ECN module including engine mounts, composite aerostructures, tubes, support hardware, fairings, accessories, bleed systems and nacelle interfaces.What will your day-to-day look like?Load, deflection, stress and dynamic analysis using Ansys WB, Nastran, Hypermesh or LS/DynaEngine and rig test planning including instrumentation requirements, test sequence and post test data reduction and evaluationLCF and HCF lifing of ECN hardwareThermal Analysis, including transient fire attack analysisFull engine system level modelingStress analysis of composite aerostructuresAct as technical focal point in support of engineering work done offshoreWhat do you need to be successful?Be eligible to work in Canada.Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.Have completed at least 2 academic years (4 semesters) towards a university degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.Knowledge of load, stress, and fatigue life analysis for metallic and composite structures.Appreciation of gas turbine static and rotating structures.Strong practical mechanical aptitudeUnselfish team-playerAbility with programming using Python to automate pre and post-processing of large amounts of dataAbility to work with a Global Team.Working at Pratt & Whitney CanadaThe masculine pronoun is used without discrimination and solely for the purpose of making the text easier to read.
