Job Description :
  • Operate fleshing machine
  • Thickness control
  • Handle various species, such as fox, wolf, bear, beaver, otter, etc.
  • Tannery knowledge in chemistry, fur finishing, or experience in skinning
  • Shave duties
  • Notify supervisor or mechanic of equipment malfunctions
  • Operate and feed a variety of machines
  • Set up, maintain and make minor repairs to machinery
  • Push carts, trucks or cans of fibres from one work area to another
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Investigate machine stoppages
  • Assist machine operators and other textile workers as required
  • Examine products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Shave hides to uniform thickness
  • Train other workers
  • Sharpen circular blades
Requirements-Education: Some secondary school is required.-Experience: A minimum of 36 months of experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided.-Must take direction and abide by safety rulesWork Conditions and Physical Capabilities: repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, sitting, standing for extended periods, ability to distinguish colors, large workload, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, fast-paced environment.
Personal Suitability: accurate, judgement, team player, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, initiative, organized, dependability.Work Site Environment: noisy and dustyWeight Handling: up to 45 kg (100 lbs)Language: English is requiredSalary: $36.00 per hour CAD / around 40 hours per week.Benefits-Airfare ticket (round trip)-The employer will help the worker to find suitable and affordable accommodation before arriving in Canada
