Windsor Salt is a unionized facility (Unifor Local 1959); the successful candidate will be required to join the union upon commencement of employment.Job Summary:Windsor Salt’s Evaporation Facility in Windsor, Ontario, has an opening for a Journeyman Machine Repairperson (Class A Mechanic). This person will be responsible for maintaining stationary and mobile industrial machinery and equipment in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be available to work a rotating shift schedule with availability to work overtime as needed.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining stationary and mobile industrial machinery and equipment including but not limited to forklifts, front-end loaders, and sweepers
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues
  • Completing preventative maintenance requirements in a timely manner
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, along with detailed and accurate maintenance reports
  • Contributing to the maintenance team by accomplishing other duties as assigned
Knowledge. Skills, and Abilities:
  • Minimum of five years’ experience providing maintenance support in a manufacturing and processing environment.
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Comfortable troubleshooting processing equipment
  • Safety-conscious team player
In addition, this individual will have:
  • Class A Mechanic (310T or 310S), Millwright, Machinist or Machine Repair Certification
  • Welding certification or experience would be considered an asset
