  • Salary: Production Lead Hand $23.25/hr base + $1.50 Lead Hand premium + $1.00 shift premium
  • Schedule: Midnight shift (10pm-6am)

The function of a Production Lead Hand is to oversee and ensure the safe and efficient running of the shift. The Production Lead Hand will also be required to act as a back up in running machines and forklifts, where required.The Production Lead Hand will be meeting corporate expectations of the position when s/he is:a) Successful in moving orders through his/her portion of the production system to meet customer expectations.b) Successful in maintaining all equipment, procedures and paperwork in compliance with BRCGS procedures.
  • Accountable for the health and safety of all workers under their supervision.
  • Responsible to ensure that all operations are safe and that employees work in compliance with established work practices and procedures.
  • Interacts with and participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work based on production schedule.
  • Submit detailed daily report before the end of each shift.
  • Supervise workers in the daily routine of producing and assembling quality finished products in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
  • Monitor and/or control quality and production levels.
  • Maintain and build employee relations by consistently modeling excellent behaviour, attitude, and performance.
  • Escalate production and employees concerns in a timely and professional manner to management.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by the Production Manager.
Additional experience
  • Ability to instruct, direct and motivate employees.
  • Proven ability to build trust and confidence with management and employees.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in the corrugated industry and operating experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Act as provided by the company.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Leadership and expertise in promoting buy -in to proposed solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
