Job DescriptionReporting to the Manager, Road Safety and Compliance, the incumbent will be responsible for training and ensuring compliance with regulations, laws and company policies for transport managers and in-house drivers in the Greater Montreal area, the Ottawa region and Abitibi.
  • Act as a trainer and advisor on compliance and road safety;
  • Help ensure compliance with road safety and compliance regulations for vehicles and transportation;
  • Advise drivers on best practices in terms of road safety and compliance;
  • Follow-up with transport managers on logbooks and safety rounds to ensure compliance with road regulations;
  • Work in collaboration with transport and fleet maintenance managers to monitor PEP and transport equipment compliance;
  • Visit our various sites to inspect the quality and compliance of the work performed by our drivers;
  • Keep up to date with government policies and regulations;
  • Enforce the company's rules of the road and transportation policy with the various managers;
  • Write and forward reports as required to the Transportation Department team concerning current practices and recommendations;
  • Carry out roadside assessments, audits and training for the company's employees.
Qualifications
  • Class 1 FM driver's license and knowledge of hazardous materials transportation;
  • Experience as a driver, inspector, trainer or in a related job;
  • Mastery of SAAQ regulations and the Highway Safety Code;
  • Mastery of dimensional and weight compliance measurements;
  • Fluency in French and English;
  • Be up to date with government policies and regulations;
  • Proficiency in Office Suite and DCE system.
Skills
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Good communication skills (oral and written);
Work environment
  • Office environment with travel in the greater Montreal area, the Ottawa region and Abitibi;
  • Occasionally work outdoors and be exposed to hot or cold temperatures.
