  • Inspecting mechanical rooms and penthouses to ensure that all machines and equipment are operating efficiently
  • Checking and recording operation of medical air systems
  • Carrying out emergency repairs and maintenance tasks work as assigned by the Steam Plant or HVAC Supervisors
  • Monitoring and operating the Deltanet Graphic automated building control system
  • Operating and maintaining the Translogic Pneumatic Tube System (Transitube System)
  • Responding to elevator calls to assist people during elevator malfunctions
  • Answering emergency and other service calls and adjusting heating and cooling controls
  • Maintaining records, log sheets and logbooks
  • Communicating with the Security Department and responding to fire alarm calls
  • Assisting the Shift Engineer with the operation of the Steam Plant
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Certificate of fourth Class Inter-Provincial Power Engineering or higher as recognized by the BC Safety Authority is required
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is a must
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written manner
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Proficiency in computer skills and ability to operate modern building management systems
  • Efficient organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate related equipment
