- Safely transport students within your community to and from school, ensuring a reliable and positive experience each day
- Prioritize student safety at all times, including during boarding, transit, and exiting the vehicle
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus remains in proper and safe operating condition
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the bus, including assisting with fueling and basic upkeep to present a well kept, professional vehicle
- Accurately complete daily Hours of Service reports and maintain required documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Immediately report any mechanical issues or concerns affecting the safe operation of the vehicle
- Address and report any student behaviour issues in a timely and professional manner, following company procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with safety practices, policies, and regulations
- Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and care while fostering a safe and respectful environment for all passengers
- This is a unionized position
- You are safety focused
- You hold a valid minimum full G class drivers license for at least 1 year (Preference will be given to E or B class drivers)
- You are 21 years of age or over.
- You are a safe driver with a clean driving record
- You can obtain a clean criminal record search and/or vulnerable sector screening
- You have a sound knowledge of London Region and surrounding areas
- You have the ability to work independently
- You are available for the required shifts: Monday - Friday between 6am - 9:30am and 1pm - 4:30pm (Start and end times will vary depening on the specific detials of each route)
- You possess solid communication skills
- You have minimum basic technology skills, including the ability to use Google Maps or GPS units
- We are currently looking for casual drivers to fill in for sick call ins or when other drivers have scheduled time off. This will be a casual position until a permanent route becomes available in your area. Applicants must be willing to operate all school-purpose vehicles including big yellow buses, mini yellow buses, wheelchair accessible buses, and minivans, or, at minimum, be prepared to drive a mini yellow bus, a wheelchair accessible bus, and a minivan.
- Casual drivers shouldbe comfortable driving within the city of London as well as Oxford, Elgin and Middlesex Counties
- Casual drivers typically work between 12 and 24 hours a week, depending on the needs of the business each week
- The main yard in London is located at 573 Admiral Court. Your route may start from this yard or from one of several park-out locations throughout the city. Where space permits, drivers may also take the vehicle home and begin their route directly from their driveway.
- Big Yellow, Mini Yellow, or Wheelchair Accessible Routes - $21.84/hour
- Minivan Routes - $20.96/hour
- Base Rate (for time spent working but not driving a school route) - $19.76/hour
