We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the field troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar mining and general line products, located at Keno Hill in the Yukon. Some of the equipment you will be working on includes AD22 Underground Haul trucks, R1300 & 1600 Underground loaders, and a variety of General Line Products.This position will work on a 14 x14 rotation. o Camp or HousingJob Description:
  • Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment
  • Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
Qualifications:
  • Interprovincial (Red Seal) Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
  • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
  • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
  • Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset
  • Drill and shovel experience would be considered an asset
Notes:
  • This position is located at the Keno Hill Mine Site in the Yukon, on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation
  • Fully tooled service truck supplied
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested
  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement​
