Rotational Store/Motel Attendant (TRO - Gamètì)

- Greet customers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly check-out area, general clean up of the store such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying trash, cleaning refrigerators and freezers.
- Price merchandise, stock shelves, and rotate stock.
- Pull stock approaching best before date to put on sale.
- Use the Point of Sale system to process customer purchases/returns and receive payments by cash, credit or debit.
- Count and record daily cash outs.
- Assist customers with bagging their groceries.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Pick up/transport freight from airport when required.
- Act as Supervisor in the absence of the Community Operations Manager.
- Other duties as required.
- Greet customers.
- General administrative duties including taking motel reservations, invoicing and processing payments.
- Conduct housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, organizing, and cleaning bathrooms, hallways, motel rooms, and office/common areas.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Prepare or assist in preparing meals for guests when required (in the absence of the Cook).
- Knowledge of cooking procedures and methods/completion of a Food Safety course.
- Monitor and order food and supplies.
- Ensure food and other items are stored properly.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Other duties as required.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills using Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in the workplace.
- Previous housekeeping, cooking, store clerk/cashier experience.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow direction and take initiative.
- Be proactive to manage time and keep busy.
- Must be reliable/dependable.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as independently with limited supervision.
- Commitment to honesty.
- Flexible/adaptable; willingness to embrace change.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 20kg.
- Food Safety Certification and WHMIS, or willingness to work towards certification.
- Ability to speak and understand the Tlicho language is a strong asset.
- Class 5 driver’s license required; Class 3/airbrakes considered a strong asset.
