This includes using techniques and strategies to communicate “I care and I respect you,” providing information in a way patients and families can understand, listening to patients and families to learn what an exemplary healthcare experience means to them, and seeking their perspective throughout their stay and during improvement initiatives.Qualifications:-Registration in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario required
-Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology requiredSkill, Ability and Experience:-Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
-Experience with adults in the area of dysphagia preferred
-Recent experience in a Hospital Speech-Language Pathology Department preferredPrincipal Duties:-Saturday coverage is provided on a rotational basis
-Provides services to adults in complex continuing care, acute care, rehabilitation, and to adult outpatients
-Provides services in areas of aphasia/motor speech disorders, dysphagia, voice, fluency, head injury and developmental language
-Possibility of visits to different hospital sites of Bluewater Health
-Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
-Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
-Other related duties as assignedSuccessful applicant will be considered a multisite employee
