  • Active registration with ANBLPN
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year recent and direct experience (within last 5 years) may be required depending on the department i.e. Mental Health, obstetrical, haemodialysis, medical/surgical, etc. A combination of relevant work experience and related education training will be considered.
  • Willing to participate in continuing education/certification programs (i.e. breastfeeding certification, non-violent crisis intervention, Periop 101, ASIST, cast application/removal, etc.) as outlined during orientation and onboarding within a defined timeframe.
  • Demonstrated assessment skills and ability to respond to emergent situations and prioritize care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to relevant legislation.
  • Good work and attendance record.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPatient Care:
  • Prioritizes and delivers care to patients within a collaborative setting, seeking clinical guidance as required.
  • Professionally communicates and consults with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients while adhering to professional boundaries.
  • Maintains documentation standards.
  • Provides holistic patient care and therapeutic measures to meet patient care needs
  • Participates in the development of the plan of care in collaboration with the health care team, patients, and family members.
  • Utilizes resources within the hospital and community to meet the health care and educational needs of patients and families.
  • Participates in the orientation of new staff and provides ongoing mentorship.
  • Participates in quality improvement and risk management activities.
