
Estimating Co-op Student

- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand scope and requirements.
- Support the gathering of quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals and comparing project costs for different bidding scenarios.
- Help maintain accurate records of estimates and related documentation.
- Participate in site visits to evaluate project conditions and gather necessary data for estimating purposes.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers/designers, and other team members to ensure all aspects of the estimate are accurate and comprehensive.
- Use estimating software and tools to develop quantity Takeoffs, Estimates, and Budgets.
- Contribute to the development of cost databases and templates for future estimating purposes.
- Assist with any other tasks and duties as required by the estimating team.
- Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a construction-related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with construction estimating and/or takeoff software is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A willingness to learn and gain practical experience in construction estimating.
