Job Title: Data Acquisition EngineerJob DescriptionThe Data Acquisition Engineer will be responsible for setting up and conducting data acquisition using various data acquisition systems. This role involves coordinating test specimen builds, setting up data acquisition systems, processing data, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. The engineer must possess a detailed understanding of data acquisition systems, various transducers, and CAN communication. The ability to operate and conduct data acquisition on company grounds is essential.Responsibilities

Coordinate the build of test specimens.
Set up and manage data acquisition systems.
Process and analyze data collected from tests.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding test results and progress.
Lead projects from start to finish with minimal guidance.
Coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics in performing vehicle instrumentation, part strain gauging, and part changes.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university.
Experience working with battery systems (cells, modules, or packs) ideally for automated testing.
3+ years of engineering experience within a testing environment in the automotive industry.
Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers including wheel force transducers, accelerometers, load cells, and strain gauges.
Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress‑life/load‑life calculations.
Proficiency in CAN Protocols.
Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and VBA.
Strong time management, leadership, planning, and follow-up skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficient in Python, MATLAB, and/or VBScript.
3+ years of hardware/physical system test scripting experience.
Test lab experience within the automotive industry.
Open to co-ops with relevant battery experience.
Experience with NCode, MTS RPC Pro, and FlexTest is preferred.

Work EnvironmentThis position is 100% onsite at the Advanced Research & Development Center (ARDC). The candidate must be able to obtain a TN Visa. Travel is required approximately six weeks a year at CPG and includes domestic and international travel up to 10-20%. The role requires driving a company car, so a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary. The candidate should be able to work overtime during weekdays and occasionally on weekends. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of WINDSOR, ON.
