- Processes corporate credit card statements and employee expense statements.
- Assists with intercompany billings and payables between all PCL companies.
- Assists with corporate accounts payables and receivables processes.
- Assists with monthly bank and clearing accounts reconciliations.
- Assists with monthly sales tax reconciliations and remittances.
- Assists with year-end procedures as assigned.
- Assists with cost reallocations associated with the review of department expense accounts for planning.
- Assists with identifying processes as candidates for streamlining.
- Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture.
- Other duties as required.
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline preferred.
- Some co-op experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting experience an asset.
- Understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows.
- Understanding of GAAPs (generally accepted accounting principles).
- Business acumen and understanding of industry practices and new developments, including introductory knowledge of construction industry; understands general construction terms and processes.
- Aware of relevant government legislation and PCL policies and procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrix organization.
- Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
