We are currently seeking a skilled Gas Fitter who shares our values of safety, teamwork, and “Making It Happen.”Job SummaryAs a Gas Fitter with Sunbelt Rentals, you will install, repair, and maintain gas systems and appliances for our fleet and customer equipment. You’ll support branch operations by ensuring all gas‑powered assets are safe, code‑compliant, and mission‑ready for our customers.Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair natural gas and propane systems on equipment and related assets.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on heating equipment and gas-fired units.
  • Conduct pressure testing and ensure all work adheres to Alberta Gas Code and Sunbelt safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inspections.
  • Support branch operations by preparing equipment for rent and ensuring safe deployment.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and represent Sunbelt Rentals with professionalism.
  • Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and provincial OHS requirements.
Qualifications
  • Alberta Journeyman Gas Fitter (Class A or B) Certification — required.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license with a clean abstract.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in gas fitting, HVAC, mechanical, or equipment servicing.
  • Strong understanding of Alberta Mechanical and Gas Codes.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer-service-oriented mindset and strong communication skills.
Preferred Assets
  • Experience working with rental equipment or construction machinery.
  • HVAC or refrigeration experience.
  • Additional safety certifications (CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, etc.).
  • Propane handling experience.

Base Pay Range 31.80 - 43.73Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
