This role works closely with the Controller, Assistant Controller, AR Clerk, AP Clerk, Credit & Collections, Customer Service, Sales, and external stakeholders. This position focuses on accuracy, timeliness, reconciliation, billing, forecasting support, and strong financial controls.As a Student Staff Accountant with us the minimum responsibilities are:
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting, reconciliation, and adjustment of customer payments, including troubleshooting AR/AP and intercompany issues.
Monitor and reconcile accounts, including aging reports, credit balances, commodity accounts, tolling arrangements, and bank reconciliations.Review, approve, and troubleshoot AP invoices, subcontractor pricing, and margins in collaboration with the AP Clerk.Support billing operations, including mid‑month and month‑end billing, journal entries, reconciliations, and invoice distribution to external partners.Maintain and update rates, forecasts, and financial reports; participate in forecast, Credit & Collections, and close meetings.Perform month‑end close support, including expense narratives, capital requests, asset disposals, and transfers.Complete weekly administrative reporting, payroll updates, vacation entry, and operational ticket corrections.Participate in annual audits, inventory counts, budget forecasts, and handle ad hoc financial and operational tasks as required.What We Need From You:Current enrollment in a post-secondary accounting programExcellent written and interpersonal communication skills, bilingual French is an assetAbility to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple prioritiesIntermediate skills in MS Excel and related accounting business systemsHigh level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situationsMust be able to pass all pre-employment requirementsWhat You’ll Get From Us:Competitive Wages: $21.00/hValuable on the job experience in a fast-paced, stimulating environmentThe opportunity to build lasting professional relationships for a career in a thriving industryWe thank all applicants for their interest but advise only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
