
Trade Execution Specialist

- Manage grain sales contracts from initiation through loading and final payment.
- Liaise with buyers, brokers, and internal teams to ensure contract execution and customer requirements are met.
- Coordinate bulk and containerized grain shipments, including loading, inspections, documentation, and unloading.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian and international grain export regulations and internal corporate policies.
- Negotiate financial payment terms (e.g., letters of credit, promissory notes) with domestic and international banks.
- Support complex financial negotiations and ensure adherence to international trading standards.
- Identify and resolve export documentation issues in collaboration with end-use customers.
- Review and manage invoices and payments for all grain shipments.
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Agriculture, or Business Administration.
- 3–5 years of experience in export logistics, finance, and documentation within a financial institution or agricultural company.
- Strong knowledge of international trade terms (e.g., FOB, CFR, CIF, Incoterms).
- Familiarity with the Canadian grain industry and/or international grain trading is an asset.
- Training or coursework in marketing, export finance, or trade associations (e.g., GAFTA, FOSFA, NAEGA, NGFA, CSCA) is an asset.
- Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing in a Windows environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and ability to work under pressure.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
