We are an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer and are proud to hire and develop the best people.THE POSITIONThe Noel Asmar Group is looking for a talented Controller with extensive hands-on experience who has a growth mindset and is results driven. The position reports to the CFO and leads all aspects of financial management, accounting, reporting for the organization, and managing the accounting team.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting department and all accounting operational functions, including banking, eCommerce, inventory, A/P, A/R, and payroll.
  • Lead the accounting team and fosters their professional development.
  • Continuously evaluate financial processes and suggest improvements to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance accuracy.
Financial Reporting and Controls:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide insights into financial performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain strong financial controls within the accounting department. Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate year-end audit process, including preparation of working papers, schedules, analyses, and other required documentation.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Collaborate with executive team to develop budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior year, identifying any variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Analyze product, distribution, shipping, and customer acquisition costs. Identifies opportunities to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including operations, marketing, and customer service, to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Work with CFO and management team on strategic / ad hoc
Treasury, tax and working capital management:
  • Manage payment gateways, refunds, and chargebacks. Monitor transactions to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Oversee inventory tracking and valuation processes for products. Reconcile inventory records with sales data and manage inventory cycle counts.
  • Provide regular cash flow forecast and updates.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations related to sales transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business,
  • CPA designation
  • Proven experience (7+ years) of progressive experience in eCommerce finance in a leadership capacity.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Solid understanding of eCommerce operations, including inventory management, payment processing, and online sales channels.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (ERP, Excel, Power BI).
  • Experience with US Sales tax and Avalera preferred.
  • Understanding of the apparel industry

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
