Our teams work with businesses to help determine a company’s eligibility to recover SR&ED tax credits offered by both the federal and provincial government. Many businesses and technology companies’ conduct SR&ED activities to develop products or processes with a view to developing intellectual property, reducing costs, improving performance, or creating new markets. We support our clients in identifying which of these activities meet SR&ED eligibility criteria.We are looking for a Senior Consultant, Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering to join the Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) team.
What you will do

Be exposed to new and exciting technologies and state-of-the-art innovations in a range of industries with a focus on mechanical/ chemical engineering.
Working with the SR&ED Senior Managers, participate in and support client technical interviews to identify SR&ED eligible projects/activities.
Examine clients’ technology, products, and operations to identify eligible SR&ED activities.
Analyze and determine eligible research activities.
Summarize eligible client activities in a technical report.
Plan, organize and executive engagements on time and within budget.
Work on internal projects related to the development of tools, templates and reports to enhance operational efficiency and management of business information.

What you bring to the role

A university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
At least 2 years of progressive experience within industry.
Experience in other R&D related government tax incentive programs is an asset.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, etc.).
Keen interest in staying up-to-date with cutting edge technologies and trends.
Analytical thinker who can draw inferences and make unexpected connections.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
Experience with the SR&ED program is preferred.
Highly driven, autonomous, resilient and team player with a strong work ethic

KPMG BC Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $66,000 to $99,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
