Role SummaryAs the visionary leader driving Power Networks forward, you take the helm of the division's dynamic journey in business development, operations, and administration across the region. Your mission is to ignite unparalleled business performance and foster unprecedented growth in alignment with our company's visionary objectives.Guided by the global plans of PSC, you chart an inspiring course, leveraging your expertise under the guidance of the region's Managing Director. Collaborating closely with our business services folks – the People team, IT, Finance, Legal, and more – you're shaping a narrative that celebrates diversity and inclusivity.Location: This is a hybrid role located out of Burnaby, Canada.Responsibilities:1. Strategy Development and Execution:
  • Craft and execute regional business unit strategies aligned with PSC Group's overarching vision.
  • Lead teams from ideation to implementation, ensuring high-quality results and positive business impact.
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director and peer group GMs/leadership to establish and refine PSC Group business strategies.
  • Innovate solutions for complex scenarios, driving continuous improvement, sustainable growth, and profitability.
2. People Leadership:
  • Lead the Power Networks regional team, overseeing business plan execution, operational targets, and fostering a values-based team culture.
  • Drive recruitment, professional development, and continuous improvement initiatives to empower individuals to excel.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide career development opportunities, ensuring team members maximize their potential.
3. Business Development & Relationship Management:
  • Collaborate with the MD and regional sales/business development leaders to drive targeted business development initiatives.
  • Cultivate connections with stakeholders globally and locally, positioning PSC services for long-term value.
  • Ensure a strong sales culture and comprehensive workstream for all billable business unit workers, supporting long-term growth goals.
4. Financial and Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure effective financial and operational performance, meeting or exceeding objectives set by the Managing Director.
  • Set and analyze financial objectives, implementing action plans to address gaps in growth, revenue, and other KPIs.
  • Oversee budgeting, expenditure management, and adherence to operational best practices, collaborating closely with the PSC finance team.
5. Technical Knowledge and Leadership:
  • Collaborate with global power networks leadership to enhance technical service offerings and maintain regional continuity.
  • Utilize technical leadership experience to guide project management, technical review, and deliver high-quality results for consulting projects.
  • Manage technical teams for power system studies, leveraging industry-leading tools and expertise.
  • Technical tools like PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP, ASPEN, ETAP, TARA, DigSILENT PowerFactory, and others are used by the team and thus the leader of the teams should be .
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of technical experience in transmission and distribution network planning, power system studies, or similar.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience managing technical teams within the electrical industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting financial and operational targets, driving profitability and growth.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to formulate and execute strategies, translating vision into actionable plans.
  • Passion for leadership and talent development, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Adaptability, innovation, and resilience in navigating dynamic business environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and market dynamics.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and commercial enterprises.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
Special Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada with no restrictions to travel and work in the US.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.
  • Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily required to sit or stand at a workstation while operating a computer, phone, and other office equipment. The employee is required to communicate speak, write, type, and hear.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At PSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 208,153 CAD to 312,229 CAD.You may also be eligible to participate in our profit share program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
