The Speech-Language Pathologist isresponsible for counselling of clients and families, as well as for appropriate referrals to other professionalsor services.REPORTS TO: Manager, Therapies & Professional PracticeDATE REQUIRED: As soon as possibleSALARY: $44.67 to $57.90 per hourQUALIFICATIONS:- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology- A member of good standing of the College of Audiologists and Speech and Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationEXPERIENCE:- Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation and demonstrated knowledge of current stroke rehabilitation best practices including management of dysphagia.- Experience in both clinical and video fluoroscopic assessment of swallowing- Experience with inpatient service delivery is an asset.- Experience with critical care patients is an asset.ABILITIES:- Demonstrated ability to practice effectively in an interprofessional collaborative environment.- Working knowledge of and experience with theories and principles guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches.- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, problem-solving and innovation skills.- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative.- Evidence of continued professional growth and/or professional development- Appreciation of resource utilization.- Computer skills, particularly Meditech, MS Office, and/or other software- A valid Ontario driver’s licensePlease be advised that we are no longer accepting emailed or paper-based resumes.
