TalentWorld is hiring an Accounting Manager on behalf of a well-established real estate investment and development firm based in Halifax. This company manages a diverse property portfolio and offers a stable, growth-focused environment where you can make a meaningful impact.Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the accounting team, driving strategic financial initiatives, ensuring compliance, and providing insights to support sustainable growth. This is a new leadership role where you will shape the finance function, strengthen controls, and guide budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.Key Responsibilities:Lead and mentor Controllers, accounting, and administrative staff
Oversee preparation of financial statements in accordance with ASPE
Ensure timely tax filings and regulatory compliance
Direct budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow planning
Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the year-end audit
Enhance internal controls, policies, and processes
Oversee project accounting for capital developments and operations
Present financial insights to executives for strategic decision-makingQualifications & Experience:CPA designation (required), Master's in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration an asset
3-5+ years of accounting leadership experience
Strong knowledge of ASPE, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
