- Function as a multi-disciplinary interface and lead for project execution.
- Identify, assess, communicate, and provide solutions for mitigating project risks with internal team members.
- Maintain company SOPs and recommend improvements for departmental procedures and workflow.
- Coordinate sales pipeline timelines and deliverables between departments.
- Manage client and stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Develop and justify service agreement addendums to clients.
- Champion projects by delivering on time and within budget as per project contract.
- Identify and document gaps and changes in project scope.
- Disclose potential issues and conflicts to the Project Manager and Client in a timely manner.
- Tailor project deliverables and outcomes to align with client needs and values.
- Assign internal deadlines and budgets to design engineers and sub-consultants.
- Manage scope, budget, and deliverables of sub-consultants and subcontractors.
- Produce official meeting minutes and track status and completion of action items in engineering status reports.
- Deliver submittals to the Project Manager for secondary checks and final approvals.
- Chair meetings and define scope and design criteria for various disciplines.
- Develop reports and memoranda summarizing analysis, design decisions, disclaimers, and recommendations.
- Conduct primary checks of models, drawings, and submission packages.
- Conduct site visits and measurements as required per project and budget.
- Handle design complications and make design decisions, bringing them to the attention of the Project Manager.
- Develop concept designs and occasionally take on the role of Design Engineer.
- Seal and certify documents and function as Engineer of Record on technical work performed by personnel under direct review and supervision.
- Lead the development of engineering feasibility and project definition reports, including cost estimation, scope development, and concept design.
- 6-8 years of experience working in diverse industries such as food processing, mining, pharmaceuticals, and ports/terminals.
- P.Eng qualification in BC.
- 6+ years of education in mechanical or process engineering.
- 3-4 years of experience in a small EPC/EPCM or engineering/PM company environment.
- Experience working on large scale projects ($10M-$50M) or small projects ($5M-$10M).
- Coordination experience with multidisciplinary teams through all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Oil and gas experience.
- Field experience.
- Process or chemical background with strong preference for project management.
- Architectural experience with industrial plant projects.
- Change management expertise.
- Overseas experience considered, but preference for 1-2 years in Canada.
