The Clinical IEN (Internationally Educated Nurse) Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation of the Supervised Practice Experience Partnership (SPEP) across multiple units/sites at HHS. The Clinical IEN Coordinator provides mentorship to IEN’s in their practice, and supports their integration into their unit in accordance with program guidelines, nursing professional standards and HHS policies, and in collaboration with the clinical teams. The Clinical IEN Coordinator guides and supports the IEN’s in providing high quality care for patients and families, while demonstrating a commitment to excellence in supporting the patient and family experience. The Clinical IEN Coordinator serves as a liaison and conduit between unit leadership, Professional Practice, and the IEN Integration Program. The Clinical IEN Coordinator guides and supports the IEN’s in meeting all nursing competencies and registration requirements with the CNO.Qualifications1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
2. Completion of a baccalaureate nursing program
3. Completion of a preceptorship workshop recommended
4. Clinical instructor experience preferred
5. Clinical supervisory experience considered an asset
6. Current BLS certification
7. Previous related experience in acute medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics or critical care
8. Knowledge of the nursing care plan and evidence of ability to utilize problem-solving and critical-thinking techniques effectively in an acute medical setting
9. Knowledge of the current nursing assessment and management of adult, neonatal/pediatric and geriatric medicine patients, including rehabilitative approaches to patient care
10. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
11. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
12. Demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills
