- Accurate processing of sales orders, quotes and general inquiries
- Taking orders in a professional and friendly manner
- Assist customer with product questions, ordering, order tracking, complaints and issues
- Schedule delivery times and coordinate with customers and dispatch
- Monitor progress of work to ensure schedules are being met
- Constantly rework best fit scenario for scheduling
- Verify accuracy of customer orders
- Provide back up for dispatch as needed
- Additional duties as required
- Previous customer service experience
- Familiarity with Halifax Regional Municipality roadways will be considered an asset
- Solid computer skills and experience
- Previous experience in the concrete, construction and/or trucking industry will be a definite asset
- Strong attention to detail, with knack for anticipating conditions that may impact success
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully manage changing schedules and deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Flexibility in work schedule (early mornings, days, late evenings) to meet the needs of the business
- Some weekend work required (work Saturdays on rotation)
- Ability to work comfortably within a high-output high-volume environment, working collaboratively with a diverse workforce
