- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring timely, professional resolution of inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty through value-added services and solutions.
- Champion a strong safety culture across all service and project activities, ensuring technicians consistently follow safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and reinforce safety reporting, including near-miss reporting, incident investigations, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement in field operations.
- Drive the strategic vision for the service center(s) while operating effectively at both a tactical, day-to-day level and a higher-level oversight role; seamlessly flexing between the two as required.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of technicians, project managers, sales professionals, and administrative staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement across union and non-union teams.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching, and support employee development and succession planning.
- Ensure effective labor relations and alignment with applicable union collective bargaining agreements.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive significant revenue growth and market expansion within the assigned territory.
- Lead, manage, and hold the sales team accountable for performance, pipeline development, and achievement of revenue targets.
- Actively contribute to sales efforts through individual involvement in key accounts, strategic pursuits, and high-value opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, partnerships, and relationship building.
- Strengthen relationships with existing clients to expand service offerings, increase wallet share, and improve long-term retention.
- Oversee the execution of service and project work from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Coordinate closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve operational and project-related challenges.
- Monitor project and service profitability, taking proactive measures to manage costs, mitigate risks, and improve financial performance.
- Ensure operational processes align with corporate standards while meeting local market needs.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of fire alarm, sprinkler, security, and access control systems and related technologies.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of applicable fire and life safety codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and national regulations governing fire and life safety systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and clients as required.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support innovation and continuous improvement.
- Operate effectively within a matrixed organization, collaborating with corporate functions such as finance, HR, safety, engineering, and operations.
- Build alignment and buy-in from executive leadership while translating corporate strategy into actionable plans at the local operations level.
- Communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization to ensure strategic consistency and operational execution.
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven leadership experience within the fire and life safety industry, with demonstrated success in operations, sales, or project management.
- Experience working within a matrixed organization, collaborating across departments while influencing outcomes at both corporate and local levels.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm, sprinkler, security, and access control systems.
- Solid understanding of union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business and financial objectives.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory as required.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
