- Supporting the national audit inquiry team by handling audit inquiry requests, including:
- First response: gathering all relevant information to conduct an audit inquiry and entering it in the national audit inquiry platform;
- Research and circulation: conducting research on entities under inquiry, reviewing conflict issues, circulating inquiries, and collecting responses;
- Response letters: drafting response letters for review by supervising legal counsel.
- Providing daily support to business law paralegals.
- Ensuring proper filing of documents in minute books and in the firm’s document management system.
- Contributing proactively as a positive and productive team member.
- Coordinating and allocating tasks to various resource groups such as document specialists, administrative clerks and billers as needed, ensuring timely completion.
- Maintaining and updating professional knowledge and technical skills by identifying and pursuing training opportunities.
- Ensuring the quality and accuracy of all work and completing assignments within reasonable timeframes.
- Legal assistant diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a legal assistant
- Bilingual (French and English, oral and written)
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal terminology and judicial rules and procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail, with advanced word processing, spelling, proofreading, and editing skills
- Ability to complete tasks with speed and accuracy
- Excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines; organizational strength and versatility; ability to work under pressure
- Ability to oversee files while adhering to deadlines with minimal supervision
- Highest level of discretion and respect for confidentiality
