(BMH3xR1)Our client, a leader in the Distribution of steel products, is looking for a spirited accounting professional to join their team. This role reports to the Controller.Responsibilities:
  • Bank Reconciliations: Daily reconciliation of bank statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Account Reconciliations: Update and maintain account reconciliations
  • Journal Entry: Prepare and record monthly journal entries
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and update various internal financial reports
  • Inter-company: Report and reconcile inter-company accounts
  • Government Reporting: Prepare working files for GST/HST/QST, and Statistics Canada/other statutory reporting
  • Letter of Credit: Preparation and maintenance of Letter of Credit contracts
  • Support Month-End Closing: Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Assist with Audits: Collaborate with the accounting team during audits, ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Collaborate on special financial projects and assignments as needed
Qualifications:
  • University degree or College Diploma
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Quick learner and proficient computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP system accounting modules)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
