Job Type: Full-timeThe Opportunity :Food World Plus is seeking a dedicated and experienced Seafood Department Supervisor to support the Department Head in leading daily operations, ensuring exceptional product quality, and delivering outstanding customer experiences.This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about fresh food retail. You will play a key role in supervising staff, maintaining food safety standards, and driving operational excellence within the seafood department.Key Responsibilities :Team Leadership & OperationsSupport the Department Head in supervising daily operationsProvide guidance, direction, and support to Seafood AssociatesEnsure fair distribution of tasks and efficient workflow executionLead by example in professionalism, teamwork, and customer serviceAssist in staff training, onboarding, and performance feedbackSchedule team members and delegate work assignments effectivelyProduct Quality & Food SafetyEnsure the highest standards of freshness, quality, and food safety are maintainedMonitor product handling, storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO)Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirementsMaintain cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards across the departmentAdhere to all workplace health & safety proceduresCustomer ExperienceDeliver exceptional customer service by engaging with customers and providing product knowledgeHandle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionallySupport a welcoming and informative shopping experienceInventory & MerchandisingManage inventory levels, ordering, and stock rotationConduct regular quality checks and control shrink/spoilageMaintain appealing product displays, signage, and case presentationEnsure proper merchandising and product mix to maximize salesTrack and maintain records of inventory and operational processesProcurement & Business SupportAssist in sourcing seafood products and maintaining supplier relationshipsSupport pricing, cost control, and profitability targetsInterpret market trends and provide feedback to managementSupport department planning and execution of promotional activitiesEquipment & Facility MaintenanceEnsure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipmentMonitor and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentSkills & QualificationsPrevious experience in seafood, meat, or fresh food retail (supervisory experience preferred)Strong leadership and team management skillsExcellent customer service and communication abilitiesSolid understanding of food safety and sanitation standardsBasic computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeStrong numerical and organizational skillsWorking ConditionsAbility to stand for extended periodsComfortable handling seafood products (live and frozen)Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularlyWillingness to work in cold (0–4°C), freezing (-18°C), and wet environmentsFlexible availability including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidaysMust not have allergies related to seafood handlingWhy Join Food World PlusBe part of an exciting, large-scale grocery concept with live food experiencesOpportunity to grow within a dynamic and expanding organizationWork in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentSafety CommitmentSafety is a top priority at Food World Plus.
