
Senior Business Development Manager, Climate Finance

- Identify key climate finance markets and develop go-to-market strategies.
- Stay current on market trends to inform underwriting and strategic innovation.
- Lead both inbound and outbound efforts: meet with prospective borrowers, represent the organization at conferences, and contribute to thought leadership.
- Cultivate and manage a pipeline of high-impact lending opportunities.
- Maintain and grow relationships with industry groups, third-party service providers, syndicate lenders, and referral partners.
- Lead lending activities from structuring to close, including drafting term sheets, preparing credit applications, and overseeing due diligence.
- Manage client relationships throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Provide coaching and oversight to Associates and Analysts on underwriting, financial modeling, and analysis.
- Work closely with Treasury, Credit Risk, and Marketing to align on growth objectives and streamline transaction processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in business development, project finance, or climate-related lending.
- Proven track record in originating and closing complex financial transactions.
- Strong financial modeling and credit underwriting capabilities.
- Familiarity with climate finance instruments and ESG frameworks.
- Deep understanding of climate finance markets, regulatory trends, and emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), Excel, and financial analysis platforms
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for managing internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client engagement, internal presentations, and external representation.
