The ideal candidate will have experience in thermodynamics associated with boilers, steam turbines, combustion turbines (simple and combined cycle), as well as emission controls and carbon capture. Process capabilities in other heavy industrial areas and bio-forestry sectors would be an asset. The candidate should have proven technical skills for delivering and managing these types of projects. Proven business development and client relationship management experience would also be an asset.This position will be considered in any location in the Canada with a Stantec presence.2 Your Key ResponsibilitiesProviding Thermal Generation and Industrial process/mechanical technical expertise, modeling, analysis, and engineering design support and input into projects.Lead or support development of engineering design tasks on projects through collaboration with a wide range of technical disciplines. Routine technical tasks include development of: - process models and analysis.design basis documents.engineering calculations.engineering drawings.engineering reports.feasibility studies.presentations to clients, regulatory agencies and/or project stakeholders.quality reviews.Provide independent quality reviews for peers on other proposals or project deliverables within your technical subject matter expertise.Support development and maintenance of sector relationships.Support and provide technical input into proposals.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and peers.Participate in client site visits as required.3 Your Capabilities and CredentialsDegree in Chemical Engineering (Mechanical considered with strong process background).Demonstrated experience in thermal generation, carbon capture, and emissions reduction projects.Experience with modeling/analysis tools such as: GateCycle, GTPro, CADSIM, GTPro, HYSYS, ASPEN would be beneficial.Experience in engineering across various execution models such as: FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPCM, and Owner’s Engineer.Experience with major industry OEMs would be an asset.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to identify, evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project, and will perform a variety of tasks which may include inspection, troubleshooting, calculations, design sketches and concepts, estimating, calculating savings, report preparation and field work.Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members across multiple offices and geographies.Experience in Project Management would be beneficial.Experience in managing client expectations and engineering budgets.Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines.Ability to travel to US and Canadian offices and client sites, when required.Holds a valid drivers’ license.4 Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.Eligible for P.Eng.   • Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$136,300.00 - $204,500.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
