The OpportunityMcElhanney has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Landscape Architect to join our team in Edmonton. The Landscape Architect is responsible for providing landscape architecture services to our clients, understanding the marketplace, pursuing project opportunities, developing new business and collaborating with our planning and engineering groups to provide complementary services on their projects. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent leadership, technical proficiency and project management.What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and execute landscape architecture plans, designs, calculations, and cost estimates for projects of moderate to complex scope.
  • Collaborate with senior landscape architects and managers on complex designs, surveys, proposals, and client development initiatives.
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues, providing guidance, resolving design or construction issues, and implementing solutions.
  • Deliver site administration services, develop technical specifications and materials recommendations, and support implementation as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership to landscape architects, engineers, technologists, and other project team members.
  • Coordinate project schedules and resources to ensure timely, efficient delivery, with strong focus on client care, budget, and timelines.
  • Analyze market opportunities, support business development, and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and agencies.
What You’ll Bring
  • A degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Full membership or the ability to obtain immediate full membership with the AALA/CSLA.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of Western Canada based practice experience in the field of Landscape Architecture.
  • A portfolio that illustrates the diversity of work completed as a Landscape Architect and their abilities with respect to planning, design, implementation and project management
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer experience (CAD, Word, Excel, Photoshop).
  • Proven track record of client and business development.
  • Preference given to candidates who have completed the Landscape Architecture Registration Exam (LARE) and those with LEED Accreditation.
What Can We Offer You?The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $140,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
