This position is responsible for providing safe, timely, efficient and professional refueling services to the private and commercial customers of the Shell Aerocentre at the Kelowna Airport or Abbotsford Airport. The Aircraft Refueler operates fueling vehicles and ground support equipment required for fueling and servicing aircraft and completes accurate documentation while working within the Company’s protocols and guidelines.Responsibilities:Customer Service
- Maintain knowledge of Aerocentre services and respond accurately and completely to customer inquires.
- Greet incoming customers and pilots in a welcoming and professional manner.
- Ensure that the customers’ needs for service are identified and understood when they are the first point of contact with the customer.
- Ensure customer requirements are communicated to the Customer Service Representative (CSR). In the absence of the CSR, take responsibility for the customer needs by making arrangements for fueling, catering, hotel, car rentals and other related requests.
- Respond promptly and professionally to fueling dispatch requests from the CSR, while maintaining clear communication of your location to the CSR and fellow Aircraft Refuellers to ensure optimal availability for incoming customer requests.
- Collect appropriate fees for service provided in the absence of the CSR.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is completed for services provided both to meet customer requirements and those set out in the Shell Aviation Operations Manual and those set by the Shell Aerocentre.
- Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
- Aircraft Fuelling, Movement, Placement and Inventory Control of Aviation fuel.
- Fuel Quality Control on Fuel trucks and Fuel tanks.
- Fuel handling and serving Aviation fuels as per Shell Aviation Operation Manual and those set by Shell Aerocentre.
- Perform trip inspections (pre and post) on equipment operated and load, ensuring safety, and roadworthiness.
- Operate various types of ground service equipment (GSE), including airfield maintenance equipment.
- Responsible to clean and maintain GSE, buildings, Fuel Trucks (daily checks, periodic inspections & monthly preventative maintenance),
- Strict adherence to safety rules on the ramp and while using equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form.
- Deliver to product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner.
- Prepare, organize and input data from truck manifests, tank logs and fuel workbooks ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures, policies and regulations.
- Complete all necessary paperwork: daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
- Fully and accurately complete Shell Transportation of Dangerous Goods form for each fuel transaction and end of day cut off
- Maintain and collect data, accurately calculating, billing and pricing structure in absence or coordination with CSRs
- Organize invoices, accounts payable, and aircraft billing via EFC’s SRS platform and enter in Shell i6.
- Required to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Physical requirements include considerable use of your arms and legs, climbing, lifting 60lbs repeatedly, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Must work shift work, weekends and stat holidays, when required.
- Ensure proper safety precautions are observed and respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
- Comply with and participate in the Company and Shell’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration and weights and dimensions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with facilities maintenance and supporting the maintenance department as required and available.
- Perform audits on handling, safety, security, cargo and aircraft handling as required.
- Class 3 with Air Brake Endorsement
- Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Clean Driver’s Abstract is required as a condition of employment.
- Ability to obtain Airside Vehicle Operating Permit (AVOP)
- Ability to obtain Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification
- Able to lift 60 lbs independently.
