Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Sales, the Energy Marketing Representative plays a key role in driving ATCO Energy's growth within the medium-sized commercial segment. Using a consultative sales approach, this role blends business development activities with market insight to deliver tailored energy solutions that support customer needs and business objectives.On a Daily Basis, You'll Be Responsible For
Business Development
- Executing marketing and sales strategies aligned with ATCO Energy's growth objectives
- Prospecting within assigned territories and generating new opportunities through referrals
- Identifying emerging market trends and developing plans to capture new business
- Supporting pricing and product positioning through market intelligence
- Acting as a trusted advisor to medium-sized commercial customers who share ATCO Energy's values
- Building long-term relationships to support customer satisfaction and retention
- Applying a consultative sales approach to understand client challenges and align solutions
- Sharing proactive updates to help customers manage their commercial energy needs
- Monitoring Alberta's energy market, regulatory changes, and competitor activity
- Preparing forecasts, performance reports, and sales presentations
- Analyzing customer usage patterns and recommending tailored energy solutions
- Partnering with sales, operations, and regulatory teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Providing market insights to support product development and innovation
- Motivated to drive new business and deliver results

- Developing effective sales strategies and closing sales
- You are a planner who is committed to execution
- Communication and sales, both in-person and over the telephone
- Asking questions, listening, and crafting sales solutions tailored to individual customer needs
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
- 3-5 years of B2B sales or account management experience
- Previous experience within Alberta's retail energy industry is preferred.
- Experience in the utility, energy, or commodity market is an asset
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office
